Memorandum of Cooperation with the Museum of Cycladic Art

The Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at the study and promotion of Cycladic culture was signed on May 17, 2024 in Athens by the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni and the President and Managing Director of the Museum of Cycladic Art Kassandra Marinopoulos. The parties have agreed to cooperate in a series of activities aimed at the study, promotion and promotion of Cycladic culture in Greece and abroad in any suitable way and means.

In particular, the memorandum refers to the cooperation between the Ministry of Culture through the Ephorate of Cycladic Antiquities and the Museum of Cycladic Art through the development of a multi-level synergy for the study and promotion of the Cycladic cultural fund. Joint activities of EFA Cyclades and the Museum include, for example:

1. Joint organization of periodic exhibitions with the participation and contribution of Greek and foreign third-party museums.

2. Joint research projects on the cultural heritage of the Cyclades.

3. Educational activities (educational programs, summer schools, seminars, etc.).

4. Joint organization of conferences, lectures and scientific meetings.

5. Scientific publications and publications for the general public.

6. Digital programs for viewing monuments and museums.

7. Synergies specific to Cycladic culture, for example the construction of a corpus of Cycladic artefacts containing the digital record of Cycladic cultural products in a single digital database. The information collected by EFA Cyclades and the Museum will belong to the Ministry of Culture.

8. Cooperation at the level of scientific research and know-how issues.

9. Cooperation to increase public awareness and promote public awareness for the preservation of the tangible and intangible culture of the Cyclades.

10. Seek resources from the private sector, through sponsorships and donations, as well as from European programmes.

11. Cooperation with third parties, Greek and international, scientific, research and cultural institutions, as well as local Cycladic authorities, to achieve the common goals of promoting Cycladic culture.

The term of the cooperation memorandum is 48 months and will be extended with a new agreement.
