Jean-Baptiste Andreas Prix Goncourt Greece 2024 winner

The result of the vote was announced by the Consul General of France in Thessaloniki, Mr. Jean-Luc Laveau, during a banquet dedicated to July 14.

During the year, French-speaking Greek students had the opportunity to read in French four novels selected by the Académie Goncourt: Gaspar Canning’s Hummus, Sarah, Eric Renard’s Susanne et l’écrivain, Nez Chino and Veiller’s Triste Tigre. Sur elle by Jean-Baptiste André, winner of the Prix Goncourt 2023, France’s most important literary award. Later, they met with the authors via video conference and had discussions, and analyzed the contents of the books among themselves.

The students, with the support of their professors, participated for another year in this educational and literary program organized by the French Institute of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the French Institute of Greece and, of course, the Goncourt Academy in Paris.

The Prix Goncourt Greece is one of 40 national Goncourt prizes designed around the world to contribute to the promotion of the French language and modern French literature.
